Well, I’ve done quite a bit of thinking about my laptop replacement. Whether to go with another laptop or go small and powerful with a Palm LifeDrive. As you can probably tell (with the above description of the two options), I’ve decided to go the direction of the Palm device.

My biggest need on the road is mapping software. Well, I found out that there is mapping software available for the Palm devices. Since I can now get maps on the Palm, I can not really justify a laptop for the road. I just don’t have the time to work with it like I do at home. However, a Palm device would allow me to listen to my podcasts and watch the video podcasts, get my map information, record my load information and keep my “day-timer” information with me.
